旅美左投陳偉殷昨日遭金鶯球團下放至小聯盟高階1A，隨後在推特以及臉書上表達失望之意。美國媒體認為，陳偉殷季後將成為自由球員，金鶯此舉將會影響他續留意願。
陳偉殷16日對上費城人繳出8局無失分的好表現，卻在隔日遭球團下放高A，引起外界質疑。對此，金鶯總教練修瓦特(Buck Showalter)表示：「陳偉殷在11日與紅襪一戰後，就感到身體不適，球團希望他能在9、10月還保有高水準演出，因此做此決定。」他也強調，得知陳偉殷不滿後，教練團已主動進行協調，避免誤會。
但美國媒體卻認為金鶯此舉是「技術性下放」，指出若考慮到陳偉殷身體狀況，照慣例是放入傷兵名單(DL)，而不是小聯盟；再來是他下一場先發將會碰上號稱「左投殺手」的藍鳥。因此美媒認為，金鶯將陳偉殷下放小聯盟的目的是因為只需缺席10天，而不是DL的15天，馬上就可重回先發輪值，加上又能躲過與藍鳥的比賽；不過，經歷這次風波，將會影響陳偉殷季後續留意願。
金鶯此舉也引發陳偉殷不滿，接連在推特以及臉書上發表失望之意，「對於球隊這個影響我的輪值以及作息的安排感到失望。我身體狀況及投球感覺都相當好，沒有傷勢疑慮，謝謝大家的關心。」
陳偉殷的經紀人波拉斯(Scott Boras)也表示，因為簽訂的合約中並沒有「受限制和拒絕任意下放」條款，認為這是不平等的合約，也嚴厲批評金鶯這樣不尋常的調度，會影響投手整季的狀態以及投球節奏。
金鶯18日在主場6比4擊敗費城人拿下3連勝，送給對手9連敗。將陳偉殷下放，從3A拉上的新秀帕梅利(Chris Parmelee)敲出陽春砲賺進1分，本季大聯盟出賽2場，9打數5支安打，包括3轟貢獻3分打點，打擊率高達5成56。
